ALT.Storm Series (1 of 2) - Utility Lightning Talks
You!!!
This is the first of a 2-month ALT.Storm Series hosted by Indy ALT.NET. The first session of ALT.Storm will be a sequence of lightning talks given by various people on their favorite utility applications. Have an amazing XML editor? What about a spectacular code generator? You know you have an excellent Visual Studio plugin (that you can show off and explain in 5 minutes)!
So what's this about 5 minutes? Well, if you don't know what a lightning talk is, first click on the link and read up. So our plan is to give everybody 5 minutes for their mini-presentation. At the end of the 5 minutes, you need to wrap things up. If you're still there after 10 minutes, we'll start flogging you with our empty Pepsi cans.
Interested? Want to sign up to show off your goods? Excellent! Respond to this posting with a comment (yes, sign up if you haven't already done so), specify the utility you'd like to show off and Sasha will contact you to get you signed up and scheduled.

I'd like to talk about "Launchy." I hardly ever use the start menu anymore. It's wonderful.
Also, I'm trying to get permission to do a demo TestComplete for automated testing using my current project's suite. I might still be able to get a TC demo put together while at the meeting if that falls through.

I can show off some Vim
I can show off some Vim (VI Improved).
Vim is a highly configurable text editor built to enable efficient text editing. It is an improved version of the vi editor distributed with most UNIX systems. Vim is distributed free as charityware.
There is a large community of developers that still use VI and Vim is a favored utility when on the Windows platform.
